“I am so incredibly grateful for the crew at Dynamo! I have had the best experience training here, and have made progress I didn't even know possible. The gym itself has such a friendly and supportive environment, and the personal trainers are super helpful and motivating. They can even teach you the science behind how each move benefits your body and strength! I would highly recommend this gym to anyone, particularly as it is much less intimidating than a conventional gym, and so each workout is much more comfortable and enjoyable. “Dynamo gym has been amazing! I had surgery on my lower back in Nov 2021 due to a slipped disc and my physio recommended that I joined. I had never done any weight lifting before or joined any formal gym. The team are super knowledgeable and made me feel really comfortable from my first session. Ben created a programme for me to follow to help strengthen my back which has since been updated and adapted to fit with my aims. The coaches are brilliant and help explain the movements well so I feel safe in addition to providing encouragement and support. “I have always struggle in commercial gyms, finding it hard to maintain consistency and confidence in my workout. At Dynamo you get a coach at every session which is essentially like having a personal trainer around to help and advise which means it’s easier to know when you can do more, and when to rest which is sometimes hard to work out. Booking sessions through the app keeps me on track because I’m making a commitment to go and I’m more accountable. There are only ever a maximum of 6 people in sessions so you know that you are always going to turn up and be able to use the equipment you need. And if on the rare occasion you can't, a coach will give you an alternative which will do the same thing.

 You can have  a regularly updated workout program which fits your goals. For example, a few months ago I decided I wanted to be able to do pull ups (just because they are cool) so I had a series of weekly workouts which supported that and I’ve gone from no pull ups to sets of 3 which feels epic. Now I’m deadlifting and benching much, much more than I thought I could. And because there are coaches helping me, I can push what I’m trying to lift without hurting myself.

There are a real mix of people at the gym with different goals and everyone is really supportive and friendly. It feels like a really safe place where you’re not going to get harassed or stared at for different to the usual idea of a gym person, or a woman. It’s also really good for ND [neurodiverse] people. It can be pretty life-changing to find somewhere that doesn’t have any of the issues that some more commercial, mainstream gyms can have. Or any mirrors.

I can’t recommend this gym highly enough. Training at Dynamo will help you achieve your goals, whatever they are, in a way that works for you, whoever you are.”

“I’ve always been way too intimidated to set foot in the weights room at a commercial gym but Dynamo is a totally different atmosphere. I’ve found everyone who goes here is so supportive and welcoming - (literally) cheering you on even at 6am! “I started Dynamo mid January and I only have positive things to say. I’ve never done  any strength training before and find gyms daunting and scary. However at dynamo they have given me the confidence and have never made me feel like I don’t belong there. In just a couple of months I have seen such improvements both physically and mentally. Not only am I stronger but I also fit into clothes that I haven’t in a while which is an added bonus. The trainers are really helpful which is perfect as I had no clue what I was doing, super friendly and positive and has given me the confidence and belief that I will be able to achieve my goal of a press up one day. “Dynamo is a completely different gym experience. Only a maximum of six people are in each session, and a coach is there for the session to watch the form of your exercises, explain movements when needed and generally give feedback and encouragement. I have been training here since May 2021 and my powerlifting has really taken off. Every member's goals are different, the programmes are tailored individually, and it is such a supportive environment – and so friendly. Whatever your fitness or strength goal is – I am sure that Dynamo will help you achieve it!”

“I can’t recommend Dynamo enough for anyone looking to strength train, increase their confidence using weights, or for anyone who wants to escape the normal gyms.

Before I began Dynamo I was suffering with a terribly lower back pain which had already been going on for quite some time. I’d tried all sorts of ways to get rid of it and the team at Dynamo strongly suggested that I just needed to strengthen it with specific exercises.

At first I wasn’t fully sure if they were right but I went along with it and after a couple of months of strengthening my lower back I haven’t had back pain again. That was years ago now!

Strength training is so important for everyone and Dynamo is the place to be! Very positive, and motivating atmosphere.”

“I joined Dynamo in 2022. I had weight trained previously but my progress was consistently limited by mobility issues and recurring pain in my elbow, knee and lower back. I could not squat over 60kg without experiencing pain. On joining I received a programme and coaching in the lifts and assistance exercises. Within 12 months I was squatting 130kg for reps without pain and had huge increases in my other lifts too. If you are struggling to increase your strength and performance or if you have injuries limiting your training and ability in any sport, this is the gym to go to. It is a friendly welcoming and diverse group of people who will support you to meet your goals. There are a range of ability among the members. There are a small number of very strong people there, but they are not roided up juicy meatheads, and ego lifting, shouting and making unnecessary noises are not encouraged. You will feel welcomed and supported no matter what your level of ability and intended goals may be.”
